Multi-CCT Lights are a Must-Have in Your Home, Here's Why

When choosing the right lighting for your home, the options can seem endless. Each option comes in a different color temperature, making the choice a tough one. Many shoppers are unsure of what color temperature is and which color temperature to select. So, why is multi-cct lighting the right choice? We’re here to tell you.

What is Color Temperature?

Color temperature refers to how warm or cool the appearance of a light is. Color temperature is measured in Kelvin units (K) and gets brighter as Kelvin level increases. Maxxima’s CCT selectable products typically range from 2700K to 5000K. 2700K projects a warm white color, whereas 5000K projects a bright blueish-white color called daylight. Maxxima offers 3 CCT, 5 CCT, and Smart WiFi lighting multi-cct products. 3 CCT products will have 3 selectable color temperatures, 5 CCT products have 5, and smart WiFi lighting products have a wide range of options through the Tuya Smart app.

Perks of CCT Selectable Lighting

There are various reasons why multi-cct products are essential to have in your home. CCT selectable lights feature physical switches, or virtual switches, that range from different selectable color temperatures. They allow you to pick the right ambiance for your space. They also give you the option to change your mind. Once you select a color temperature for your space, it can be changed.

Here is how our CCT products vary in the way they can be changed.

Downlights

Maxxima’s CCT selectable downlights have a switch on either the back of the unit or on the J-box that it is packaged with. In order to change the color temperature setting, you will use the attached switch and easily manuever it to the proper color temperature for you and your space. Some of our customers favorite recessed lights are our 4 inch retrofit square and round recessed LED downlights. We also carry 12 packs for contractors to easily supply their customers and always have the proper color temperature on hand.

Smart WiFi Lighting

Maxxima’s smart WiFi lighting products are controlled using the Tuya Smart app. Using the app, you are able to control the color temperature of your lights from 2700K - 6500K using a virtual dial or your voice via a Google Assistant or Amazon Alexa. You can also control brightness, set timers, schedules, and choose from 16 million colors to set the right mood in your space. Some of our top sellers are our LED outdoor wall light and our slim LED downlights

Light Bulbs

Maxxima’s CCT selectable bulbs have a switch located directly on the side of the bulb. This means that you can change the color temperature of the bulb by simply unscrewing it from the fixture you have it installed in and putting the switch on a new setting. These BR30 bulbs add the perfect glow to any room you place them in.

Under Cabinet Lights

Maxxima’s under cabinet lights have a CCT switch located on the top of the unit, making it incredibly easy to change their color temperature setting. With the simple flip of a switch, you can select a new setting at any time. These lights are perfect for lighting up any kitchen, workshop, desk, pantry, or closet. Their color temperature versatility makes them ideal to fit the ambiance of the room you decide to install them in.

Ceiling Mount Fixtures and Lights

Maxxima’s CCT selectable ceiling mount fixtures and lights have switches located underneath the lens or unit. You can select the color temperature prior to installing these products. Some of our favorites are our 32 inch oval ceiling fixture and our 9 inch flush mount ceiling light. They both complement any bedroom, living space, or kitchen.

Choosing the Right Color Temperature

Now you may be wondering, how do you pick the right color temperature for your home?

2700K color temperature is a soft white color. It will complement a warmly decorated environment. 2700K pairs best with darker wood and warm colors such as reds, oranges, and some yellows. This makes 2700K color temperature perfect for a dim, low-light area such as your bedroom, dining room, and outdoor spaces.

3000K color temperature creates a slightly brighter warm white color. This will complement similar areas that the 2700K does, however it will create a crisper color in the atmosphere of the space. This temperature pairs well with earthy tones such as warm browns, reds, and greens. 3000K light is perfect for your bedroom, living room, and dining room.

3500K color temperature will produce a bright white color. It is best paired with neutral colors as it typically sits in the middle of a CCT range. It creates a bright and comfortable atmosphere and is best used in your bathroom, living room, kitchen, and office.

4000K color temperature will produce a neutral white color that is best for cool-tone colored areas. It is the perfect option for your bathroom, kitchen, office, garage, and other high-focus work spaces.

5000K color temperature is a bright blueish-white color called daylight. This temperature is best used in cool-tone areas, similar to 4000K. It is best used in workspaces, garages, commercial areas and healthcare buildings.
